While taking a road trip with friends to Olancha  in the California desert, Richard met Los Angeles music producer Ethan Allen while staying at a mutual friend's house.

Over the course of the weekend of singing songs and building fires, a friendship was built on a mutual love of  certain but wide ranging musical tastes.

They immediately bonded and began discussing making an album together.

It then became obvious that the best place to record such a project would be in the very place they  had met.

So a mobile studio was built in the desert overlooking the Sierra mountains and the recording process began.

The album The Raven is the result of this remarkable project.
